PolyOne Announces Distribution Deal with BASF

From the wire: PolyOne Corp. and BASF Engineering Plastics announced today at the MD&M West show in Anaheim, CA, USA, that PolyOne Distribution will add BASF’s advanced polymers for healthcare to its product portfolio.

PolyOne will now distribute BASF’s high-performance Ultrason product line. These high-temperature polymers can be used in equipment requiring strength, chemical resistance and repeated exposure to certain sterilisation processes. The material notably is used in the fabrication of respiratory therapy devices in compliance with US FDA and EU regulations.

In recent months, PolyOne also has announced an expansion of its specialised solutions for the healthcare industry from suppliers such as DuPont and the acquisition of specialty healthcare compounder NEU Specialty Engineered Materials LLC.

The world’s largest medical design and manufacturing trade show, MD&M West is being held at the Anaheim Convention Centre from 9 to 11 February.
