May 6, 2010 – 6:39 am

Have you heard about the new medical cluster in Norway? If not, then you should know that Oslo Medtech was founded about six months ago, in November 2009. In her speech on MEMS for diagnostics in Norway at the World Micromachine Summit in Dortmund last Friday, Berit Sundby Avset, Research Director at SINTEF and Oslo Medtech Boardmember spoke briefly about the new medical cluster in Norway. “The aim is to develop an internationally competitive medtech industry in Norway,” Avset said. Oslo Medtech is a cluster of companies, hospitals, finance-, knowledge and research institutions focusing on medical technology. The organisation currently combines about 31 medtech companies, eight hospitals and R&D organisations and seven other institutions.
