This Year’s Model in Assembly Systems

May 25, 2010 – 11:04 am

Greater flexibility and new nest sizes are among the attributes of the new Jetwing 2010 assembly system from sortimat Technology GmbH and Co. The company will introduce the enhanced features at next month’s Automatica exhibition in Munich, Germany.

The 50 x 100 and 400 x 100 mm nest sizes extend the Jetwing’s range at both ends, adding to the existing 100 x 100 and 200 x 100 mm sizes. The system’s modular design now allows from eight to 48 assembly stations, instead of the current 12. The Jetwing can be converted to the company’s Spaceline system as production volumes increase.

The boundaries between semi- and full automation and large and small production volumes are becoming blurred, notes sortimat, which will showcase the Jetwing 2010 combined with a Clearliner and new cleanroom transfer system at Automatica.
