Pantec Biosolutions Receives Honourable Mention in Red Dot Awards

Pantec Biosolutions AG, a privately owned company that develops transdermal drug-delivery technologies has announced that its first manufactured product, P.L.E.A.S.E. Professional received an “honourable mention” at the red dot award: product design 2010. The red dot awards for product design recognise outstanding international product design in a variety of industry sectors including medical devices.
P.L.E.A.S.E. Professional is a benchtop system for medication administration. The device incorporates a hand-laser with which the physician applies a microporation technique to the skin, thus preparing the area for a medicated patch. Marc Ruta and Milan Marovac from WILDDESIGN were responsible for the conception and the product development of this laser-system.
Evaluation of the submitted products for the red dot awards is performed by an international panel of judges consisting of eminent design experts. The panel examines and tests the products, assessing them according to criteria such as degree of innovation, functionality, ergonomics, durability and self-explanatory quality. This year, companies from 57 countries presented a total of 4250 products to the judges for evaluation.
