Kontron Introduces New SBC with an Intel Core i7 Processor
June 22, 2011 – 3:39 pmKontron today announced a new single-board computer (SBC) with an Intel Core i7 processor and up to eight GByte of soldered ECC memory. The VM6050 has an Intel QM57 controller hub and Intel hyperthreading. It has on-board USB flash support.
VM6050 is designed for demanding applications and is available in commercial and rugged versions. It can speed up multi-processing tasks and processing of single-threaded tasks by increasing the processor cycle on demand by up to 40%. OEMs can tailor the Kontron VM6050 to the individual requirements of new and existing applications.
The VM6050 offers data back-up in case of a power outage. It supports VxWorks, Fedora Linux and Windows software and PMC, XMC and FMC mezzanine cards. The product is fully compatible with all other Kontron 6U VME products.
