Vention Medical Acquires Ansamed
August 28, 2011 – 10:00 pmFull-service medical device outsourcing company Vention Medical has acquired Ireland-based Ansamed, a supplier of medical tubing and catheter design, development and manufacturing services.
The acquisition will broaden Vention Medical’s capabilities related to the development and manufacture of catheter-based devices and give the company a base in Ireland from where it can pursue expansion throughout Europe.
“Partnering with the Ansamed team is an extraordinary opportunity for us to further strengthen Vention’s ability to deliver innovative components and cost effective supply chain solutions to our medical device customers,” says Dan Croteau, CEO of Vention Medical.
Ansamed benefits from Vention’s commitment to growth, adds Bairbre Meehan, Managing Director of Ansamed, “and its complementary capabilities in balloons, shrink tubing and catheter assembly. The combined business will allow us to bring even more innovative and cost effective solutions to our mutual customers, as well as to new customers.”
