Husky Demonstrates Range of Medical Products at Fakuma

Husky Injection Molding Systems is launching its new Ultra SideGate hot runner technology at Fakuma taking place 18 to 22 October in Friedrichshafen, Germany. The new Ultra SideGate hot runner is designed and optimised for deep draw parts such as pipettes, syringe barrels and other small parts. According to the firm, the hot runner allows cusomers to direct gate parts that would otherwise require gating with a cold runner, making this new technology particularly valuable in the manufacture of parts where quality and gate vestige are critical. Husky’s Ultra SideGate is part of Husky’s medical workcell that is on display at the company’s booth 5509 in hall B5 this week.

Running at the booth, Husky’s H-MED AE TM (all-electric) system for medical moulding will include a four drop Ultra SideGate hot runner, Shotscope NX process and productivity monitoring software and Altanium temperature controller. The system will be producing a 0.5 g medical cap with 1.25 mm wall thickness using a polyoxymethylene (POM) resin.

H-MED AE is a high precision, energy efficient platform optimised for the moulding of high-quality medical parts. Husky claims that Shotscope NX is the industry’s most advanced process and production monitoring software that helps manufacturers improve productivity while minimising scrap and downtime. The firm’s Altanium temperature controller is designed to provide the most accurate temperature control possible, optimising the melt stream and resulting in better quality parts.
