Stork Veco International Inc. has completed construction of new Class 1000 and Class 10,000 cleanrooms at its facility in Eerbeek, Netherlands, for the production of precision electroformed metal parts. The company fabricates close-tolerance, burr-free parts with micron and submicron features and sharp edge definition. Medical device manufacturers are among the company’s cadre of customers.

“In fluidic applications, our ability to reproduce orifice size, shape and side wall profiles offers our [medical] customers precise control over flow and dose volume and has proven critical in effectively atomising medications,” says Michael S. Burns, Sales Manager.

“In optical applications, this same ability provides superior feature and edge definition while permitting tight dimensional control,” he adds. The technology is suited for the fabrication of optical slits, aperture wheels and field stops.

Stork Veco electroformed parts feature holes, slots and complex shapes down to 2 µm with tolerances to ±0.5 µm and can include up to one million holes per square inch.
