Vetter Receives European Outsourcing Award

Contract development and manufacturing organisation Vetter won the Most Improved Manufacturing Project or Process at this year’s European Outsourcing Awards. The company was given the award at a gala dinner on 10 October in Madrid. The award took place during the iCSE show in Madrid.

Vetter won the award for a new high-speed filling line for pre-sterilised syringes. The filling line allows for a flexible filling process, which optimises production for up to 1 million syringes a day, according to the company. Vetter invested about 35 million euros into the development and construction of the filling line at its plant in Ravensburg, Germany. Vetter developed the line together with its engineering supplier Bosch Packaging Technology. Together, Vetter and Bosch developed a fully automated spray disinfection tunnel, processes and systems for the aseptic transfer of tubes into higher cleanroom areas. Vetter also won the European Outsourcing Award in 2007 for its entire Ravensburg Vetter South facility.
