Bischof + Klein Expands Class 5 Cleanroom Capabilities

May 7, 2013 – 10:51 am

Bischof + Klein (Lengerich, Germany) has announced an expansion of its ISO Class 5 cleanroom production capabilities. The 2700-m² facility includes a high-performance automated punching machine that produces single- and two-ply Tyvek cover sheets for disposable syringes. An adjacent packaging line automatically applies protective packaging, and the closed-loop cleanroom chain is also equipped with a PE extrusion line and laboratory. The expansion places Bischof + Klein among a handful of  European manufacturers that can offer the production of flexible packaging for medical products and pharmaceuticals at this level of purity.

The expansion is designed to address growing demand for cleanroom packaging services, says the company. Bischof + Klein claims to be the only supplier of header bags manufactured in an ISO Class 5 cleanroom for disposable syringes.

Bischof + Klein anticipates a further increase in demand, and it has designed the modular cleanroom to facilitate additional expansion, as needed.
