French Medical Cluster Celebrates 20th Anniversary at MEDTEC France

May 9, 2013 – 10:40 am

The Medical Technology Cluster, France’s only organisation of its kind, will fete two decades of facilitating multidisciplinary partnerships and promoting industry at MEDTEC France next week. The event returns to Eurexpo in Lyon on 15 and 16 May 2013.

The cluster, which was officially recognised by the French government in 2010, will mark this milestone by presenting a major project related to the implantable devices sector. Dubbed MeDinFrance, the initiative brings together several regional bodies and technology associations to promote the medical device industry and provide support for innovation, export efforts and regulatory approvals. A dossier has been submitted to the French Directorate General for Competition, Industry and Services.

Although France is well positioned when it comes to medtech innovation, says the organisation, regulatory requirements raise a number of issues for small and medium size enterprises seeking funding. By bringing together wide-ranging expertise, the project hopes to alleviate some of these pain points.

MeDinFrance will present its three-year action plan to MEDTEC France attendees at stand 420/428 at 12:00 on 16 May.
