Raumedic AG has announced that it will invest €26 million in a new building with cleanroom production and manufacturing capabilities as well as laboratory and office space at its headquarters in the Bavarian town of Helmbrechts. Completion of the work is scheduled for 2014.
In a press release, the polymers specialist for the medical and pharmaceutical industries explains that high rates of growth during the last few years prompted the expansion. Since the company was spun off from Rehau AG in 2004, sales and the number of employees are said to have more than doubled.
“New contracts for well-known medical technology and pharmaceutical firms, together with the implementation of new technologies, have provided the cornerstones for our growth plans,” says Martin Bayer, Director. The new building will be located adjacent to the head office and will accommodate more than 100 new office and laboratory staff members.
Raumedic develops and produces tubing, precision mouldings and catheters as well as assemblies and systems for medical and pharmaceutical companies. The firm has a staff of some 530 employees and generated turnover of €78.8 million in 2012.
