Conference on Implant Materials and Surface Technologies

The Swiss Medical Cluster will hold a seminar on materials and surface technology for implants March 19-20 in Interlaken, Switzerland, as part of the industry organisation’s Meet the Expert series. The conference programme will include expert sessions as well as open papers. There will be dedicated time for discussion and networking. The goal of this seminar is to exchange know-how and boost the cooperation between implant manufacturers, suppliers and customers. The seminar is targeted at experts in this particular field and at those interested in implants. During the two-day conference, current questions concerning materials, surfaces and processes will be addressed. 

Some of the topics will include solved and unsolved material problems in the development of spinal implants, implant coatings as a means to deliver pharmaceuticals, antimicrobial Ag-compounds as coatings for implant materials, and orthopaedic implants with integrated designed network structures for improved osseointegration.

The Medical Cluster brings together Swiss manufacturers, suppliers, service providers, and research and development firms.
