Argotec Inc., (Greenfield, MA, USA) a manufacturer of custom-engineered, precision-extruded thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) film and sheet, has acquired 100 percent of its joint venture Omniflex LLC, also based in Greenfield.

Omniflex specialises in the production of waterproof and breathable films for use as antibacterial and viral barrier films in medical device and wound care applications. The company’s medical films also can be formulated to tailor the strength and timing of its proprietary antimicrobial technology to a specific end use: slow-to-fast acting, short-to-long lasting, or a combination of both in the same film layer.

Founded in 1988, Argotec is a privately held company. Its products include ArgoMed films for use in medical textiles and wound care applications. Depending on the application and manufacturing process, Argotec can produce precision films from polyurethane and other difficult-to-extrude polymers in thicknesses ranging from 0.2 to 125 mil, in widths up to 86 inches, and in lengths up to 1000 unspliced yards. In addition to flat-die, cast-on-carrier, and blown-film extrusion technologies, the company also has expertise in extrusion coating and multilayer constructions.
