Technical Innovation Award for Company’s Flexible Packaging

May 5, 2009 – 7:18 am

olivermed-osurancewebOliver Medical has received a 2009 Silver Award in Technical Innovation from the Flexible Packaging Association for its Osurance zone coated lids. The lids shorten sterilisation cycles by eliminating the risk of product contamination while maximising porosity.

Manufactured in an ISO 14644-1 Class 8 clean room, the Osurance lids combine optimal zone coverage, the company’s Xhale adhesive with sure-seal DotCoat technology and reportedly consistent seal integrity. The company’s novel release-liner coating process applies adhesive in a controlled area along the package flange, thus eliminating adhesive exposure to the medical device.

The competition is the 53rd annual Flexible Packaging Achievement Awards Competition organised by the Flexible Packaging Association, a leading association for converters of flexible packaging and suppliers. There were 113 entries and 24 winners across several industry sectors.

Oliver Medical/TOLAS Healthcare Packaging is a Mason Wells company that supplies innovative die-cut lid, roll stock and pouch products. It has three manufacturing operations in the United States and one in Venray, The Netherlands, and sales offices throughout the United States, Europe and Suzhou, China.
