June 1, 2009 – 1:16 pmFrom the Wire: As a result of measures taken to curb medical device spending in France, the med-tech market in that country is predicted to see limited growth, rising from US$8.6 billion in 2008 to US$11.0 billion by 2013, according to a recent report. Some medical device OEMs will benefit, however, from several initiatives implemented to help France overcome a shortfall in imaging and radiotherapy equipment. France is the fifth-largest medical device market in the world, ranking behind the United States, Japan, Germany and the United Kingdom.
