Germany's Federal Minister for Economics and Technology, Dr. Karl-Theodor zu Guttenberg (center), toured pharmaceutical company Vetter's headquarters in southern Germany.

The German Federal Minister for Economics and Technology, Dr Karl-Theodor zu Guttenberg, on Friday toured Vetter Pharma International GmbH’s main facility in Ravensburg, Germany. During his visit he learned more about the pharmaceutical company’s activities in the aseptic filling of syringes, cartridges and vials. The minister is one of Germany’s top politicians. After touring the premises, zu Guttenberg said that, “As a highly innovative company Vetter demonstrates that being a medium-sized company and attaining world leadership are in fact compatible. And, with its 60-year tradition, it has shown, too, that it knows how to overcome economic crises and even use them as an opportunity.”

One of the highlights of Minister zu Guttenberg’s visit was a tour of the state-of-the-art Ravensberg Vetter South site, said to be one of the world’s most sophisticated and modern pharmaceutical production facilities. Here, liquid and lyophilised drugs are aseptically filled into ready-to-use syringes and other injection systems.
