Fakuma 2009: Local Cleanroom Production
October 16, 2009 – 3:29 amSterility is an important factor in the production of medical products. At Fakuma, designer and producer of cleanrooms Max Petek Reinraumtechnik (Radolfzell, Germany) is demonstrating its expertise with an injection moulding (IMM) machine from Japanese-German IMM manufacturer, Sumitomo Demag. In hall A 7, the cleanroom specialist presents cleanroom production for the med-tech industry with the all-electric Sumitomo Demag IntElect 50-110, producing medical casings in a cycle time of 20.1 sec.
“Local cleanrooms are ideal for the production of plastics products such as the here at Fakuma displayed medical casings,” says Michael T. Drescher of Spengler Electronic AG, Switzerland. Drescher, who frequently works with Max Petek, has a background in cleanroom technology himself. “While in the past, mostly the pharmaceutical industry produced under cleanroom conditions, many medical products but also automobile and electronic parts are being produced in cleanrooms these days.” He adds that the demands and quality requirements for the medical industry in particular are constantly increasing, and so are consumer expectations.
