According to the annual autumn survey conducted by German medical technology association BVMed, innovation, growth and job creation continue to be hallmarks of the German medtech sector. The survey, which polled 139 BVMed member companies, projects 5.5% growth for 2010.

Direct manufacturing is primarily being used for prototyping and has not yet gained widespread use in series production.
